New hotel in Amsterdam: The ED hotel
There is a new hotel in Amsterdam! The ED has opened its doors in town last month. The building on the corner of the Overtoom and Nassaukade use to host the Theater District Hotel and has since undergone a major renovation. The central location in Amsterdam could not be more perfect, just a stone’s throw away from the Vondelpark and Leidseplein.
Happy vibes at The ED
The ED is a laid back three star hotel with a colorful interior with fun and edgy details. There are 71 rooms, for 1, 2 or 3 guests. “Accessible, cheerful, cozy but also progressive. For example, there are easy check-in counters where guests can check in themselves, while we inform the guests about the hotel and of course the fantastic surroundings, “says Léon Dijkstra, Managing Director of Eden Hotels.
Hotel design
Studio Hank from Amsterdam is responsible for the modern interior of the ED. The funky rooms are light and modern while the public spaces showcase some surprising elements. In addition, there is a shop which is open 24 hours a day where one can get sandwiches, snacks and drinks. The whole atmosphere is very chill here. I gather anyone would feel welcome here.
Jazz music
Music is high on the priority list at the Eden hotels in general. Eden Hotels is a real Dutch family business that has been around since 1947. There are thirteen hotels now. For The ED, jazz pianist, composer and award winner Michiel Borstlap has compiled the music lists for the various spaces.
